Asking a famous screen pup for his Pawtograph

(Excerpt from “Success Stories” of Musicians Institute)

It all started in Alaska…

Bruno Parnell hails from Fairbanks, Alaska — a world away from the bright lights of Los Angeles. In 2004, he visited a friend attending Musicians Institute in Hollywood, and something clicked. Inspired by the energy of the city and the creative pulse of the entertainment industry, Bruno knew instantly that this was where he wanted to be. Four years later, he made the leap, enrolling as an enthusiastic 30-year-old student at MI.

He began his studies in Audio Engineering, but it was the FilmIT Program that truly changed his trajectory. There, Bruno discovered a passion for filmmaking that would go on to define his career. The hands-on training and collaborative environment opened the door to a path in television production — one he’s pursued with relentless drive and creativity ever since.

Bruno has since built a dynamic career in unscripted television, serving in a wide range of roles including recently as:

  • Production Manager/Drone Op for Naked and Afraid on Discovery

  • FPV Drone Op & PM for Mud Madness on Discovery

  • Senior Production Coordinator for Homestead Rescue on Discovery

  • Field Coordinator on Uncharted with Gordon Ramsay on NatGeo

  • Post Production Coordinator Who Wants To Be A Millionaire on ABC

  • Field Coordinator/Drone Op Gold Rush: White Water on Discovery

  • 1st AC on Road Rage Fixers on A&E

  • Production Manager/Drone Op for Temptation Island on Netflix
    ...and many more..

Bruno says of the education he got from MI and how it shaped his current career:

“[At MI,] I learned that there are some incredibly talented people that share the same dreams of success and what separates them is self-discipline, work ethic and having their priorities straight. Truly taking advantage of the facilities at MI that are available 24/7 and the amazing instructors is up to the individual student… You get what you put in to your time there.”
